Since 1968, we have been crafting exceptional canvases and wooden stretchers in the heart of our workshop in Charente, France.

Our Story | Mastery, Legacy, and Renewal
Our journey began in 1968 with Jacques Beurcq, who transformed a small woodworking shop into a specialized manufacturer of professional artist canvas stretchers. He established the foundation of fine craftsmanship paired with optimized production.
The next generation truly defined the identity of Master Toiles®. Jacques’ children reclaimed the traditional techniques of linen sizing—a vanishing savoir-faire. They developed a proprietary house-made white primer and perfected the "Sabre" coating technique (hand-primed with a spreading blade) for linen canvases.
Today, our workshop stands as a guardian of ancestral trades. These gestures, passed down through generations, have allowed us to achieve exceptional quality, officially recognized in 2022 with the prestigious "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (Living Heritage Company) label—the highest French distinction for excellence in artisanal skills.
