The story

The story begins in 1968, when Jacques BEURCQ, grandson of a “Tour de France” companion, bought a factory producing wooden articles, in particular canvas support frames.
Quickly he modernized and industrialized manufacturing. He thus becomes the exclusive supplier of the largest French brand of the time, Lefranc Bourgeois. His reputation for quality then allows him to work with renowned houses, Sennelier, Berge…
20 years later, the second generation takes over. Christine and William BEURCQ created MASTER TOILES in July 1989.
To cope with the changing market, we decided to offer a more finished product and a canvas mounted on frame. Supported by a laboratory, we develop a coating which over the years makes of reputation our canvas.
Targeting the top of the range, by coating exclusively Belgian linens, long fiber, calendered, recognized worldwide for their quality, we have kept the traditional, manual techniques of “saber” gluing, with skin glue.
We supply professional or amateur painters, in all Usual Formats, but also Made to Measure.

Tradition

For more than 50 years, our frames are manufactured, with traditional woodwork techniques, in solid Maritime pinewood, from certified “PEFC” forests. we manually coat “with saber”, selected long fiber linen, calendered, with animal skin glue, plus a specific acrylic coating Master Toiles®, suitable for all painting techniques…

Innovation

Serving artists for more than 50 years, through resellers, wholesalers and central offices, our reputation for quality has long gone beyond our borders. Master Toiles® is both experience and tradition but also innovation…
